I am a Christian and as such, I disagree with same sex marriages. However, I do beleive in not judging others and treating others with love. I am not against gay couples having equal rights in terms of the legal system, but I am defensive about the term "marriage". I would prefer a system like the one carpediem suggests, so that everyone would be treated fairly and those who aren't religious needn't worry about resistance as they will enjoy the same freedoms as those who are.
